So for the first time in the program I took an extra day off. When I arose yesterday, with good intentions, my legs just screamed "No way Jose, you are not running today" so I just had to heed them. So I just carried out the hedge trimming (read put right 5 years of inattention by previous property owner) and cuttings disposal that I had started the day before. Umpteen trips to the recycling centre and I eventually found time to take the daughter & dog down the beach for a walk and a swim.
So unsurprisingly I was hardly full of beans this morning but the running gods were shouting at me that I must run. Didn't really start to enjoy it until about 15 minutes in, due to the usual aches and pains at the start. Even when I had loosened up towards the end I can't claim it was the best, but I got round and logged another 4.91km and felt proud of myself for doing so.
An hour later, as I sit and write this, I am chuffed with how much better my body feels than it did a couple of hours ago, before I ran. I am also looking forward to the next session on Wednesday.
