Hard work!

I awoke this morning at 5am to go to the loo, then after returning to bed, found myself twisting and turning for the next half ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

โ€˜Thatโ€™s itโ€™ I thought, โ€˜Iโ€™m going for a runโ€™......I was intending to go in the morning but thought โ€˜Now Iโ€™m up.....โ€™

After a quick lick and a promise, I stuck my running gear on, had a quick cup of tea and I was out of the door!

I did my 10min warm up walk to sound of beautiful birdsong....Iโ€™m not used to these early mornings but I think I soon will ๐Ÿ˜Š

I set off at my usual pace and had only gone 100yds or so when a young guy ran passed me at a rate of knots with his Labrador in tow ....โ€™Hmmโ€™ I thought โ€˜Iโ€™m making him look fastโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜‚

After about 1.5k I reached the Bridge spanning the River Evenlode and there was the young guy, bowed over the bridge gasping for air....the Tortoise and the Hare sprung to mind ๐Ÿ˜Š

I was enjoying the run up to the 3k point when I started to struggle......I started breathing very unevenly and started to feel uncomfortable. Running on 5hrs sleep maybe or lack of fitness after my 5wk injury layoff??

I had a couple of short walk breaks before stretching my legs a bit for the last Km. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ

Maybe I need to rein it in early on so I can enjoy the whole run ๐Ÿค”

Next stop Blenheim Palace and the 7k fun run with Clairecandothis ๐Ÿค—

Happy running guys ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ

Good on you for doing it so early in the morning, l find it easier in the evening, l take way too long to wake up in the mornings ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

There was no way Iโ€™d have gone out that early in the winter, there are far more hardy souls on here ๐Ÿ˜Š

Cool! When I get home, maybe I'll see you at a Blenheim run - my OH has done quite a few there. (That was when I was in the "Why on earth would anyone run unless something was chasing them" camp.)

Nice one Ted, early summer mornings are the best, peaceful and thoughtful times. But if your mind is anything like mine (hopefully not for your sake!!) and I was thinking about whether I'd lost fitness or not, I know that would be enough to get my breathing all worked up on its own. Take it easy next time and see how it goes. Sounds like you are back on track though :)

That pace is still quicker than me! I think the title fun run is a tad misleading..... ๐Ÿคฃ but it should be good!

It is a fun run Claire, itโ€™s a family day out.

Sure thereโ€™ll be serious runners there but the majority will be fun runners like us and, because itโ€™s only one circuit, no one will be lapping us ๐Ÿค—

Itโ€™ll be a brilliant atmosphere ๐Ÿ˜Š
