Week 4 Run 1 completed but having to quit

As mentioned before I get pain in ankle after running but after few days it disappears then I continue. Anyway after wearing different trainers and trying not to be so flat footed when running I completed W4R1 (tough but didn’t give up) but now I’m sat with leg up and an elasticated ankle bandage on. I’ve googled it and believe it may be my Achilles tendon and not wanting to make it any worse I am having to give up C25K ☹️

Ouch! Have you had it looked at?

No I’m just going to rest it 😬

You might want to get someone to look at it.

This isn't just you overdoing it. There's obviously some weakness there that needs to be looked into.

Your GP could refer you to a physio or the local hospital's biomechanics unit.

Don't give up just yet Yorkshire Lass007.

I had an ankle sprain after W5R3 and was out for 3 and half weeks, repeated a couple of earlier runs to get back into it and graduated last week.

Take it easy and rest your ankle and hopefully you'll be off the injury couch soon xx

Oh really that’s good to know, and congratulations, I’m just a bit scared of tearing the tendon completely. But yes I will bear that in mind. Thank you

Have it looked at and it can probably be easily overcome.
