Was feeling apprehensive about this run, but dare I say it, I absolutely enjoyed it 😊. Changed from Sarah to Jo and on my second 3min she said think about I love running... which I did. I didn’t think about how long I had to run, I just soaked up the scenery with a mantra “ I love running” and it really worked. I looked ahead all the time and enjoyed the pace, wasn’t quick ( 3km) but was comfortable for me. The breeze helped with the last 5 min run.

Brilliant. I use Jo and love her wee hints and anecdotes while running. Her ‘don’t look like Spotty dog’ last week made me smile every day hahahaha
I blumin’ love Jo, she’s so calm and reassuring. I think her breathing tip about really expanding your tummy will prove useful as sometimes I can feel a stitch coming on. Thankfully hasn’t fully hit yet but I’m sure it will at some point!
Yes, I've been using that tip whenever I've felt a stitch starting. It works.
Good to know!
Nowster, you’re an official pro 🙂 Can I trouble you to take a min to look at my latest post’s pic and talk me through Cadence, Splits and Elevation? It’s all gobbledygook to me but I’d really like to understand it as I think it will help with my goals.
As you're still doing intervals (Week 4) and your app is recording both the walks and the runs the stats aren't particularly helpful as it's averaging both the walks and the runs.
Cadence is how often a foot hits the ground in steps per minute.
Splits are where the app has totalled up the stats just for that period (eg. 5 mins) or distance (eg. 1 km).
Elevation is how much climbing you've done. eg. if you go up a slope and gain 5m in height, down a slope and lose 6m of height and then up 4m, the elevation will be 9m (5+4).
At a very rough estimate you're going at a decent speed when you're running, but it's difficult to tell from the figures.
Even so, with C25K it's all about doing the times, not how quick you are.
Ah that helps a lot, thanks so much! Like you say, I know that it’s pretty irrelevant for where I’m at in the programme right now but a better understanding will spur me on. If I continue as I am, I’ll likely start to feel more competitive and the harder it gets, the stats will help with motivation!
Thanks again (and sorry to clutter up your thread, Jules) 😬

Brilliant!!

So glad you enjoyed it!✨
