I completed the C25K in June and am really enjoying running 30 minutes 3 times a week. I appreciate that running doesn’t equal weight loss, but I would like to continue my healthy lifestyle by losing weight too. Are there any weight loss programs that are as easy to follow as C25K as I seem to need structure! Thank you in advance....

C25K done, weight loss next!
Slimming world! I swear by it. I’ve lost just over 6 stone and I’m now on target. It takes a couple of weeks to work out what you can and can’t eat, and then it’s easy! You can do it online. I did it on my own though.
Congratulations on graduating and continuing to run Tracey!
In terms of weight loss I've tried Slimming World and similar in the past, and it clearly works for some, but I really struggle!
I find calorie counting via My Fitness Pal much easier (and cheaper), and I just make sure I weigh everything and log everything. The key I have found is that there are some days that I completely over do my daily intake, usually because of a takeaway and drinks with friends/family; I just make sure that I ran that day to make up for some of the calories, and be as honest as I can be with my logging (you never know 100% what calories are in a takeaway); I allow myself these treats once or twice a month, and just make sure I get back to the healthier living the next day.
Good luck! See you at the finish line.
Hi,
I have tried Weight Watchers in the past and it did work for me. However, at one point I found that I was going each week to just get weighed and I didn't feel I was getting much for my money and I could do everything myself at home.
What I do now is count my calories using the fitbit app. I have programmed in my height and weight, along with age etc. I have selected the medium difficulty weight loss goal (which works out to about a 500 calorie deficit and 2lb a week loss). It works out how many calories I can eat daily taking into account my daily activity level, including running. I then log everything I eat. It can be a pain at first when you have to weigh everything and find the right food brand etc but once you get going it's much easier. If you eat certain meals regularly you can create your own meals and calorie count so next time you just add the meal from your list. I tend to be really strict in the week with no alcohol and keeping calories low and then at the weekend I enjoy myself and don't stress too much if I go over my limit as I've built up extra deficit in the week, so that bottle of wine is enjoyed guilt free lol.
I've lost about half a stone in a month, give or take, so this works for me. Might not be for you or others but it works for me and is an option. Which ever method you opt for, good luck and I'm sure if you stick with it, it will work for you.
Good Luck!
Running, as you say, doesn’t equal weight loss, but good nutrition alongside it is a formidable force. I’d highly recommend saying hello to the guys over on the Weightloss NHS forum healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... they’re as friendly and supportive as we are and have more to offer than any diet book IMO.
I have just got to my target weight with Slimming world it is not a diet but a way of life, if you really want to loose weight the best way is with whole food and slowly just like with the running, this is why I love SW as it is a whole food way of eating, they do go on about sweeteners and things but I don't take any of that, I just take what I love to eat in measured amounts. Happy running and eating.
