Completed W9, R3 on holiday in Shaldon, Devon. Monday’s morning run down here was drizzly but today’s conditions were perfect. A real sense of achievement to finish the programme and get to just over 5k distance in 30 mins.

Started the C25K with my 14-yr-old daughter who had to stop because she’s been ill but we’re hoping to start again in August so she can graduate too.

To anyone in the early weeks thinking, β€˜I’ll never make it to 30 mins’, I promise you can! I felt exactly the same but trust in the programme, it works - find a steady pace and just take one run at a time. Good luck!

Thank you, she’s been really poorly but is thankfully on the mend. I said I’d stop training until she was better but she insisted I carry on. Really looking forward to running together again.

Appreciate the tips on the graduation badge ☺️

Thank you, it was all thanks to Jo in my ear telling me to sprint! My cool down walk was very very slow... πŸ₯΅

Haha, my last sprint was week 8 run 1

On the 10th

and I ended up on the injury couch for the next 16 days ☹️

I don't sprint finish now πŸ˜‚

It was a graduation day thing, I got over excited! I was injured after doing a 100k charity walk so am very careful these days. Steady wins over speedy every time πŸ‘πŸ»

Haha, I understand 😁

(Hope my comment didn't come across as criticism , it wasn't meant to be ! 😬)

Its hard not to speed up sometimes and I don't know what I will do on my graduation run πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I didn’t take it as criticism at all! It’s important for us to remember how β€˜pushing through’ can put you out of action for months. After the 100k walk, I had shin splints and not being able to do anything but rest was hideous.

Good luck to you with the rest of the programme, it’s a great feeling when you complete the last one. My next challenge is carrying on 3 times a week but I’m already planning to head out on Friday as the start of my new running adventures.

I think you replied to my 11yo earlier. It’s so good you are doing this with your daughter it will be a great thing for her to think of going out to run as normal. Such a good role model you are. I hope she’s well soon and then you can cheer her on her way!

Thank you, I’ve missed her on the runs but now I’m proof it works! We’ll be back out together again soon 🀞🏻

You’re a great role model as well! Good luck to your 11-yr-old too - let’s hope they both grow up having running in their long, healthy lives.

I was determined to keep up the programme during our holiday. I was so chuffed and beaming from ear to ear. Good luck, you’re so close now. Go for it!

Oh congratulations, great achievement in a beautiful setting. I'm doing C25K with my daughter too, who will be 14 next month. Had to just miss July graduation because she was poorly a few weeks back, but have 2 runs left and hope to graduate on Sunday. Seeing her improve, gain confidence, and finally say she's proud of herself as she sprints off like a gazelle, makes my red-faced slow shuffle worth it. Hope you're enjoying your holiday.😎

That’s amazing, I bet you’re both really proud of each other! Have a great run together on Sunday.

Can’t quite believe that I’ve turned into a person who enjoys running on holiday... πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ»
