Week 5 run 3 - WOW !

I’ve just completed w5r3, I’m still on the treadmill, I never look ahead on the app and was NOT prepared for that ! Lol. I did it though, this is the first time for a good while I’ve really felt a sense of accomplishment about anything, currently feel amazing.

Ok so I did take my running pace down a bit on week 4, the inner snail is embraced, I’m down to 5mph jogging and 4mph walking, but I’m comfortable with that, the pace will come later. I don’t think I’ve ever run for that long ever 🙂.

Starting to think I can do a 5k now, if I’ve done 20 then I know I can do 30 mins 🙂,

My only concern is I’ve got used to the treadmill setting the pace, I had a little run outside at the weekend and was a bit puffed after 5 mins so I must’ve been jogging a bit faster than usual.

Anyway, I’m the happiest I’ve been for a while, bring on week 6 😄

Great , you must be so chuffed . As for running outside it mat take a bit of practice if you are used to the treadmill but it doesn't matter , you did it 😊

Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻 I found it wasn't as bad as everyone thought it would be. Slow and steady and it's fine.😊🏃🏽‍♀️

Yes I agree, since I reduced down to a slow jog I’ve been great.

Wonderful! So glad you weren't too fazed by the step up and that you feel so good. I know what you mean - once you know you can do W5R3 then the rest of the programme seems entirely possible! :)

Great job. 5mph at this stage is just fine... don’t worry on that score... it happens to be my happy pace too! Keep that pace down into week six and you got this.

Thanks, I’d dropped from 5.7 to 5, felt like I was cheating a bit at first, but it’s about the ability to keep jogging for 30 mins rather that the pace I guess. Definitely feel I’m on my way to 30 mins now 👍🙂

I can run 5k in 30... but it’s much more fun to do it in 36... and that happy pace will take me to 10k and beyond... when running longer, control the pace... when running shorter go for it. Every run on the plan is longer... nuff said.
