After graduating many months ago I didn't do so much running but kept going with some exercise and fitness in the gym.
I have now literally done nothing fitness wise for 4 months. I am a nurse and between work and home schooling I haven't had either the energy or motivation to do anything about it.
I am meant to be doing a Gung Ho 5k before the end of September and desperately need to get going again. Am going to repeat the whole programme again but it seems the longer you don't exercise for, the harder it is to restart!!
Any tips to get motivated again??

It makes absolute sense. I just can't believe how quickly you lose the fitness. Sure once I start again I will find the motivation - i always feel so much better for exercising
Well it’s hard to kick someone up the proverbial when they’ve got so much on their plate already! But... you are an amazing individual and you owe it to yourself to do something solely for you. Not to mention the precious alone time you would gain, all the physical benefits and last but not definitely least, that welcome endorphin hit!🤸♂️Go Cath400, while the going’s good and keep posting so everyone can cheer you on! 😊🏃♀️🐢
You have done this before and you KNOW you can!! So just get your shoes on and start W1R1. Do it asap, just get that one done. Then it's just one step after another and you'll be raring to go for Sept. Are you doing the 5k then for a particular reason? Even if it's just because all of us know you've committed to it, that is another motivator. Come on - prove it to yourself again!
Thank you. I was meant to be doing it at the beginning of June and was working towards that and using it as my motivation but obviously it was cancelled.
I know I just need to get on with it. Am next off Friday so will start then.
The only motivation you need after months of looking after everyone else is that this one is for you and you alone. Think of getting your fitness back as a massive, beautifully wrapped gift with a whacking great big bow on it that you are giving yourself!
The strength you need to get up and do this is nothing compared to the strength that has carried you through the last four months, this is no problem for Supergirl!
I find the best way to get myself out the door for a run is to put my running gear on when I wake up in the morning and just go without over thinking about it (after a cup of tea of course) but I have found that if I put normal clothes on first then I can't be bothered to change into running gear, sounds daft but it works for me. I have also had a months break after holidays and being too busy and found that starting with a 15 minute run, then do a 20 minute and just build yourself up that way, it's quicker and not as daunting as starting from scratch because your lungs are probably still quite strong from past running so you may not have to start right at the beginning of the program and as everyone knows the first 10 minutes are the hardest, get past this stage and see how you feel and work out from there. Good luck and hope you find the motivation.x
