Was hoping to run tonight but forecast is rain. Do you run in the rain or wait for next dry day?

Running in the rain is fabulous, as long as it’s not a monsoon.....😂, although I have been caught out before now.....

I was out this morning in the light rain, vest top and skort....peaked cap to keep the rain off my specs.....

Lovely and refreshing, although one part through an overgrown byway was a bit ‘car wash’ like....😂

Do it!

If it is a light rain then I wear my cap but never been out in a torrent.

I didn't want to run in the rain at first , but then during week 2 it started soon after I went out .

And if t was actually quite cooling and refreshing .

I might be a little reluctant if it's raining before I go out , but if I get caught out I don't mind 😁

It’s lovely running in the rain, refreshing and keeps you cool

Here’s a question for the rain runners, what footwear do you use? I’ve considered it but never been out in more than a light drizzle. My trainers are mesh topped for ventilation, I don’t fancy getting them soaked through.

Just my usual ASICS, yes they can get soaked, (they did today running through wet grass....and the rain...) plus I’ve had the experience of running in rain like stair rods going into my shoes on the top! 😄 but then having good socks is the key, they can get completely sodden, but you don’t notice it (in good socks) until you stop/get home.....

My trail shoes get wonderfully soaked and muddy - that’s what they’re for....

You can get ‘waterproof’ liners in heavy duty trail shoes - fell running etc., but not really recommended, won’t let the water out and really, not overly good for your feet....

Nothing wrong with wet shoes, (they can take it you know!) just let them dry in a well aired space, and bash off any mud when it’s dry, you can stuff them with paper to help if you want - the golden rule is never, ever, ever, ever put them in the washing machine....😱

Thanks Madge, I think I’ll need to buy some socks!

Did you go? I’m not a fan of running in the rain if it’s very heavy, light rain isn’t too bad. I find if I don’t go once it’s a convenient excuse not to go next time

I did! I almost backed out as my husband went for a walk and came back soaked! I waited another hour until it had stopped. Had a light then medium drizzle through my last two runs but pushed through and hardly noticed it apart from my wet feet! Given the forecast is wet for the next week I thought I better go otherwise as you say it becomes a convenient excuse. Week 2 done 😀

That’s awesome news. Good for you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 bit of wet feet for 20 minutes never killed anyone 😊

Week three around the corner now, go for it
