I’ll be running W7R2 tomorrow and rain is forecast all day. Any tips as I’ve not run in the wet before ?

I wear a baseball-style cap so the peak keeps the rain off my glasses! I use a light weight summer one from runr as it dries quickly and doesn’t make my head too hot. Otherwise I just dress for the temperature - running gear generally works fine in rain. Some folks like a light weight rain jacket but I go with “it’s only water”. But I do try to warm up at home first so I start right in running - I get cold with walking if the wind is blowing.

I found that my running jacket was as wet on the inside as it was on the outside because I got too hot!

Embrace it. Don’t wear extra clothes. It’s lovely.

My only tip would be to enjoy it! Far far better than running in blazing sun 😁

Running in the rain is generally lovely, naturally cooling. The weather will change and to be a runner you need to embrace it all, so you can run all year round. Mind you horizontal freezing rain, coming in from the north and hitting me in the left ear was not sooo great, but it certainly was a memorable run :)

Just completed W7R2 in the rain. I didn’t collapse and feel great. Thanks for all your help 👍

Hi Dobbo57, I hope that you don't wash your trainers in a washing machine. Let them dry naturally and if you MUST wash them, do it by hand. Stay Safe and protect your washing machine.
