Running in the rain...

havetrainerswillrun profile image

It’s peeing down here today and I’m supposed to be doing W7R1 later on.

I’ve never run in the rain before.

Should I just go for it? Can I use my headphones in the rain?

Any advice would be helpful!! 🏃‍♀️🏃🏿‍♂️☔️💦

I’m not going to advise re headphones in case you electrocute yourself. I’ll just say I always wear mine in the rain 😊

You might as well get used to running in the rain, it’s a nice thing to do ☔️

Heavy rain could damage your 🎧 headphones if water gets inside them, it's up to you if you wish to run, run 1 of week 7 in the ☔ rain, some runners love rain, others wait untill the rain goes off then run. 🏃

I ran earlier in the rain with my Bluetooth headphones. I wore a cap and a light rain jacket with a hood. It wasn’t heavy rain but still came back drenched but headphones and fitbit survived! Just felt a bit too warm in cap and rain jacket - personal preference I think.

Rain is wet..you will dry...a large brimmed cap keeps head and ears dry..

I always wear my headphones in the torrential rain...and love running in the rain (cools me down) but can’t guarantee that yours will survive the rain ☔️

Get out there! I love running in the rain, it's just so refreshing especially in the spring and summer. The wind is a runner's true enemy, I struggle to get out of the door if it's windy.

You'll be fine, just be careful if you're running on muddy ground, can get slippery so just take a bit more care than usual.

Get out there and have fun. Be seen!!!!! Get out your bright fluoro gear. a running cap or hooded light weight run jacket is a good idea too, to run in or just to pop on afterwards, for the walk home

Have fun 😃👍

Well, I managed to miss the rain but the lightning and thunder and v dark clouds seemed to be getting closer and closer and then just as the app told me to start my warm down the heavens opened and we had torrential rain - so I did get soaked but only dashing to the car - managed the full 25 min run!

This past week I’ve ran in really heavy rain twice and absolutely loved it! It was so refreshing and somehow made me feel happy although my soggy feet weren’t too happy when I got home today! Before going out I really hadn’t wanted to but very glad I did.

I also wore my headphones and touch wood they’ve been ok but they are cheap wireless ones, I don’t think I’d risk running in rain with expensive ones .
