Graduated!

Nine weeks ago I posted on this site, saying that I wanted to begin but seeking reassurance, being in my mid sixties and never having run voluntarily in the last fifty years. I had so many encouraging responses. And here I am. I ran week 9 run three this morning. In the. One weeks I had my 67th birthday, lockdown happened, my husband had open heart surgery. And it has been HOT. But I did it. I think I saw a snail and a tortoise dash past me, but I didn’t stop. And now I will say what people said to me: if I can do it, almost anyone can. Thank you so much for the programme, the enthusiasm and the fab support.

Yay well done! I'm 65 fast approaching 66 and completed w7r3 today. I'm slow too but it's amazing what your body can do! So looking forward to the next 2 weeks - I know I can do it! Onwards.....

Brillilant, what a star!! Well, I'm turning 67 tomorrow and did W3r1 this morning. I found running for 3 whole minutes really tough, and I wondered several times about how the lockdown must have affected my sensibilities to make me think I might be up to the c25k at all. But.... it made the 90 seconds seem like childsplay, which it certainly didn't the first time I ran it, so there must be progress somewhere!! You are an inspiration. Keeeeeppp running !

This is true. I felt exactly the same and I really thought that I would never manage the next run. But everyone says the same: just go as slowly as you want and you will find you can do it. Good luck!
