W6R3 done! In the rain!

I am on such a high right now! I ran the full 25 minutes today of W6R3 with no problems whatsoever! In the rain!! I think the rain actually distracted me from my usual concerns about my breathing, feeling winded, my legs feeling heavy or whatever. I had none of those problems at all! I was too worried about how it was cold (at first) and how I looked stupid walking in the pouring rain during the warmup, and how my shirt was so wet it was clinging to me and then how it was see through (black sports bra, luckily!).

I started out with a misfire, actually. I knew it was raining, I was watching the weather apps and radar, I'd even bought a running hat last week just so I could run in the rain and keep the rain off my face. But then I went outside, saw how HARD it was raining and went right back inside! I gave myself a good talking to, looked at the weather apps again and realized I'd have to wait a couple hours if I wanted to avoid the rain, and reminded myself how I'd bought my cute sassy hot pink hat JUST SO I COULD RUN IN THE RAIN! Texas spring rains can get bad sometimes, with thunder, lightning and hail, but today it was just rain, so I knew I needed to just get it done. And I did!

Woohoo!

Thanks! Let us know how you do. The warm weather is so much harder to run in than cooler/cold weather! I’m in Texas and summer is right around the corner. 90-100+ degrees F every day for months! We are lucky to get down to 80 F overnight in the summer so early morning runs are still warm, but I’ll manage. It was 70 F today and with the rain and a bit of breeze it felt cold!
