Haha I’m joking obviously but even in just a T-shirt and cropped leggings I was waaaay to hot tonight 🥵 I didn’t realise I’d have to learn how to sweat as well as Run and breathe 😣. It was the hardest run yet but it just goes to show no matter how badly you want to stop it is possible to keep going and the feeling of achievement at the end is always worth it!
Anyway that’s week 8 done only 3 runs to go...

I feel I could have gone quicker than the 34.05 time for my 5K this morning, despite only wearing shorts and my parkrun T Shirt I was very warm, if I had ran faster my face would have been like a beetroot, at least I managed a sub 35 minute 5K,
Ditto for me, a sub 30 min 5k is but a distant dream to me, I just might be able to it if I set my metromone app at 184 beats/steps cadence a minute, however, although it goes to 300 beats a minute I don't think that it would be a good idea to set it more than 180 steps a minute
The quickest times I have had are 30.55, 30.56 and 31.16 for a 5K, all those were ran without my metromone app with me.
Hi, I’m only on W3 but I like the sound of a metronome when I’m trying to run. Sorry for all the questions but would you recommend one for a beginner? Which app do you use? Feel like I need all the help I can get at the moment! 😅
It is the "MetronomeBeats App" from the Android Store, you can set it from 1 to 300 beats a minute, for running, say 155 to 185 beats/steps/cadence a minute, it does help me with the pace and speed I go at, for example when I got it at first I set it at 155 and ran a 5K in 52 minutes, two days before I walked a 5K in 50 minutes not using the app. Four days later and for most other runs I have set it at 175 beats a minute and ran a 5K in around 33/34 minutes, the quickest I have set it at for running is 180 beats and ran a 5K in 31 minutes, if I set it + 180 beats a minute I might be able to run a 5K in less than 30 minutes, however, I don't think that would be advisable for me.
Oh I know! It was hot at 9am today! Wasn’t there a run in your underwear thing women did at the vitality 10k last year to promote body positivity? Maybe I will claim I’m joining that when I’m arrested for indecency! 😳😂🙈
Even if you were naked you’d still be sweating so no difference really 🤗 so maybe have a think about when you run 🤔. Maybe look for when it’s cooler and run then x
That’s true though I suppose 🤔 I left it til about 7:45, if I’d left it any longer it would be too late to eat afterwards and I wouldn’t sleep either 😣 and I can’t do mornings cos I’m really not a morning person so I guess I’ll just have to get used to a few hot runs ... hopefully!
🤣. A lot depends on what materials you’re wearing... I have a long sleeved black top that keeps me cooler than running in t-shirt and also blocks UV, and on the bottom half I’m now wearing running trousers rather than shorts, following advice here last summer... they’re definitely keeping me cooler than my shorts used to. Good technical fabrics are better than nudity... and you don’t see blue flashing lights as much 🤣🤣
Yes it’s been chilly here today too although more or less stayed dry. Hailstones and wind don’t sound great for running so I hope it has stopped if you did decide to run tonight!
Yes I’m really looking forward to graduating...I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone!
I funny know if it’sa woman thing 🤔 Men seem to sweat easily whereas I just go incredibly red and overheat but don’t seem to be ache to sweat it out 🤷🏻♀️
