A bit like an oscar speech, but thank you so much to everyone who gave me a boost on here last night when I was feeling really nervous about my final run. The tips and support on this website are brilliant, there is no arrogance or one up manship, just genuine support.
Well out I went at 7.30 this morning for Run3 week 9, with all your advice ringing in my ears. Not only did I run for the 30 mins, I carried on. I hadn't got to 5k at 30 and decided to see how long it would take me, well with my 5 min warm up walk it took 38 mins in total. I then decided to just keep going as I felt so good. along with warm up and cool down I kept going for 48 mins and managed 5.8K. Ok so at one point I was overtaken by a very elderly gentleman speed walking, but I don't care if I run like a tortoise, at least I run, something i never thought possible 9 weeks ago.
Now what next??

Fantastic, I’ve been out this morning and was wondering while I was out whether you’d done it so really pleased to see you have and smashed it, if you’re anything like me you won’t stop smiling all day, well done 👍🏻
It’s advised to go on to consolidate your runs now to continue building on what you’ve done so far.
That is so sweet of you Julia for thinking of me, thank you so much. You guys on here really got me through it, I kept focussing on coming back and telling you all I had done it. Felt great this morning, and can't wait to get out again on Tuesday. Hope you had a fab run this morning too x
Just brilliant!! Many congratulations on such a fantastic achievement!
Next steps - consolidate! It’s worth noting once we’ve completed c25k we’ve run for a little over 8 hours, which is great but not huge amount of time in the grand scheme of things , so we need to get quite a few 3x30s under our belts, before stretching ourselves again. How many weeks is up to you, but when it feels comfortable is the goal. We are more prone to injury at the start of our running adventures, so it’s wise to be careful at the start so we don’t end up on the Injury Couch due to over excitement! Well done & enjoy the next few weeks!
Thank you, that's what I plan to do I don't want to push it and end up injured so will just keep up the 5ks and then stretch them a little when I can. My pace is still quite slow at around 11minute miles but I am happy with that, don't think I am ever going to be a sprinter! x
