Wow week 4 again already. I looked as a reminder to see what was coming up and groaned at the thought of trying to run outside for 5 mins stints. Yesterday evening my daughter and I went to our local flat park again. This had become a good spot to run in !
I messed around with my track list and so glad I did as I was flagging on the final 5 mins and had slowed so much I didnt think a snail could go slower when on came that one song that always makes the running seem easier. Yes ! Then 2 little girls on scooters went past me and the youngest looked and said "race you " . Made me smile through the pain and I even ran that little bit faster to make her think we were racing ! My daughter of course was way ahead of me by now so walked back to me when it was completed and high fives all round ! We made it look like we had just completed a marathon . I guess in a way every successful run feels like I have! Happy running all.

Well done you!!! I remember some of my early runs I did with my daughter who at 31 was more than half my age, she was running at about 10 min mile and I was about 14/15 min mile so she used to try to slow to my level but we’d end up at about 12 min mile and I found it so hard. I could not gasp an answer to any questions and people would say “ good morning” and I’d just grunt back. Then I’d go out on my own and find it so much easier.
I remember a little boy with his mum saying “look at those runners !!” And realising he meant us!!! That perked me up. My daughter’s job took her away for 18 months and I kept running on my own whereas she gave up and hasn't run for over a year now
Youve done so well to get as far as you have . Now you will build on that and it will be week 9 in no time. 😁😁💪🥂
Thanks for the support. It's always appreciated. My daughter is at 25 half my age but she has health issues and often say my age is no excuse ! I completed c25k on a treadmill before so I know I can run. However now running outside feels like a greater achievement. My knees are starting to get used to it and I now 'get' why some people couldnt run on a treadmill constantly. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever want to do it regularly again after this. 😁😁
