The gremlins were out in force for my lad today, for some weird and wonderful reason I was feeling quite upbeat about what lay ahead (probably the fact I have 100% faith in the program as it's already got me doing things I didn't think were possible!) but kiddo was beat before we'd even put our shoes on.
Regardless, he still came out with me and whilst he struggled slightly on the first 5 minute run, he pushed through and we both completed the run feeling on top of the world! He held the phone and was App watching on the second 5 minute run but that seemed to help motivate him so I think we'll do that again in future.
We both went nice and steady (at one point I almost felt like he was holding me back - bad mom alert π¬ but actually I think it did me more good than harm as potentially, if I'd gone the speed my legs seemed to want me to go, I think I possibly would have burned out).
Onwards and upwards, rest day tomorrow and then back on it again on Wednesday.
I so love running!!!!

He did really well, bless him! I'm the same as you, I really enjoyed it. I thought I'd be dead on my feet but the first 5 mins flew by and then I was only about a minute from the end of the 2nd before I was like "how long is left??" I think I'm like kiddo, I like to be able to have a quick sneak peak at the remaining time!
I can really feel it in my legs tonight though. I'm currently sprawled out watch GBBO but for once I'm not hurrying back and forth to the kitchen as I don't wanna tip my legs over the edge π
Great run both of you. You gotta be proud of that lad not feeling it, and struggling but not quitting and getting the job done. He has to be proud of you too on it, on it and learning a new pace with the slow down... that will be handy either during this or later on recovery runs.
Definitely proud of him. I really thought he was going to give up but he listened to my bits of advice (which, tbh, I was making up as we went along!) and we took it at his pace so it was all good in the end.
The poor boy had swimming after school today so I'm not surprised he felt like he had a mountain to climb π¬
