Feeling pretty good after! Felt a bit of pain in my left leg after my first run on Tuesday, but โtouch woodโ, I feel ok, today! ๐

Week 1 Run 2
Well done! I had all sorts of aches and pains in my legs when I first started running. Probably because I was very weedy and unfit (not suggesting you are, but I definitely was!). ๐ Quads and calfs of steel now though! ๐ช
Do you stretch after your runs? This helps a lot. Look up the How to run C25K post under the pinned posts - there is a link to some good post-run static stretches there. Keep up the good work, runner! ๐
Thank you! Iโm new to all this! If you get a few niggles, is it just a case of running through them, or will I do damage! I have no pain at all, today. It is early days!
If it is a mild niggle i.e not too painful, test it out with a slow short run. If it hurts more with your run - stop. You should never run through pain, because yes, this can lead to full on injury. I found my legs ached the day after my run, but recovered in time for the next run. Do have a read of the guide I mentioned - loads of good advice for new runners there!
Yeah, I do a little! Since Iโve been furloughed from work, I did some of Joe Wicks PE lessons, last week! I thought I was going to need an ambulance! I was stiff for days! ๐
Be sure to stretch your calves, quads and hamstrings after every run! And I have heard of people being in agony after Joe Wickโs workouts ๐๐๐. Oh dear!
Looking forward to my Saturday run! Who even am I? ๐
Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.
