Well I completed my 2nd run today and it was so much harder than the 1st one. The 60 seconds running seemed longer and the 90 seconds rest seemed shorter. I don't think the weather helped as it was raining and windy but I'm so glad I persevered as after a 30 mins rest, some water and a snack I felt energised, happy and ready for anything. So proud of myself bring on run 3!
Week 1 Run 2 : Well I completed my 2nd run today... - Couch to 5K
Week 1 Run 2
Keep going, it will become addictive π¬
I'm the same. I found it harder today W1R2 glad it wasn't just me!
I'm hoping that if I take the advice of those further through the program and slow down a bit that run 3 will be better
Keep it slow and keep it steady... just try, even at this stage to relax into the runs and go gently
You'll be amazed how quickly that minute seems like nothing when you're in week 4 or 5 π I've just done run1 week 9 and it took me around 15weeks due to injuries and weather but stick with it you'll feel amazing! π
At the moment as a non runner I've just been happy to be able to complete 60 seconds of running but I can't wait to see myself progress through the program. At the moment running for 30 minutes seems like a pipe dream but with the small increases each week hopefully I'll get there
Anything you do is better than not doing it, right!? That's my philosophy. I took advice about going slow and found myself checking the app, "20 more seconds, 10 more.." and loved hearing the halfway bell. Strangely though, I can't wait to do the next one.
Slowing down does seem to be the advice I'm seeing everywhere so I'm definitely going to try a slightly more relaxed approach on my next run. Afterall the aim is to manage to keep up with the excercise times not set a certain pace or distance.
Slowing down worked for me. It's frustrating realising I can't run normally these days, like I remember running years (decades!) ago. I am where am and I will get better at it. I am sure you will too x
been there, done that, got the tee-shirt, washed the tee-shirt so many times it's faded. Keep at it, it'll get easier. You're going to go to bed and dream about putting your running kit on for the next one
Thanks everyone for the support, tips and encouragement. I've been reading loads of the succss stories on here and I can't wait to hopefully be able to share my own in a few months
