Thought I’d go out early this morning .. so did everyone else!!! Usually i rarely see more than one runner at 6.30 but this morning I saw 2 diferent couples with their dogs, all running. And about another dozen runners, and about 4 cyclists too. We all have each other a wide berth and nervous grins. Bit uncomfortable really. Still it did make me a bit quicker , and then I thought I’d pressed the buttons at 30 mins, walked for half a minute and then realised the button hadn’t worked and had to press agains. Doh!!
Glad I went out... not sure about next time now though ....

That’s my concern, normally I rarely see anyone, and some of the public footpaths I use are a bit narrow......however, when I went and did my ‘not parkrun’ on Saturday, there were some people who clearly were not ‘regulars’ and looked like frightened rabbits when I came trundling past....not that I had any intention of stopping, having a chat etc., (I do think the risk there is very low....)
Much that I do like an early morning run, especially in the spring/summer, I might have to readjust my timing.....
But, I’m also thinking, all the time I can get out, to keep as fit and as healthy as possible, I must.....🏃♀️
Ha ha that was like us in the downs Saturday, never seen so many people with dogs and people without dogs and people in bikes it was freezing and the wind was fierce it was mad
Stay safe and well
We run around fairly dull suburban streets and while I have noticed more people out I suspect lots are going to The Quiet Place and finding those places full.
Yeah I ran up the middle of a few streets this morning when I saw people coming towards me. There was an old guy with his dog in front of me when I started off so I crossed the road and he crossed too, so I went back and he did too!!! And repeat !! In the end I managed to pop down a side street and avoid him. I dont think he realised I was trying to dodge him.
Think everyone's got the same idea about going out earlier by the sound if it. One guy on my strava feed was out at 3.02am , now I love running but there's no way I'm going out in the dark . Stay safe and enjoying your running 🤗
I’m not surprised, we humans all seem to have the same thought patterns. I’ve just been looking at treadmills on Argos, and they are selling out as I’m looking at them! The new loo rolls 😂. I decided not to bother in the end as it would be redundant if and when we ever get back to normal.
I was out at at about 7 o'clock this morning, I had planned to drive to my usual country run location which is about 15 min drive away but in the end I changed my mind and went around the streets locally. I'm not quite sure why I changed my mind, I sort of felt guilty driving around, there's really no logic or sense to that!, strange times 🤔 . . . Anyway there were very few people out and mainly dog walkers.
I know what you mean. I almost sneaked out this morning. It felt wrong almost. It’s so quiet here now. I can hear next doors radio mumbling away gently and that’s it. Unnatural..
