After my drama queen ‘OMG, I’ve broken my toe’ moment, I had a week without running while the bruising on the (not even a little bit broken) toe healed. My consolidation runs hadn’t gone to plan and I was beginning to panic about the 5k run I’ve signed up to next week. This morning felt like the first proper autumn day and I couldn’t wait to get out there. Could I still run for 30 minutes? Would I ever manage 5k? Off I trotted and soon I forgot about all of that in the joy of running on such a wonderful morning. Twice round the perimeter of the park and I thought I better go home. I was stunned to see that I had run for 33 minutes and reached 5k. I felt like I’d graduated all over again. Isn’t this fun?
I hope you all had lovely Sunday runs.

Thank you, Annie. It was quite chilly - about 8 degrees - and, given our shared interest in what to wear in the cold, I thought of you while I was running. I just had my capris and a long sleeved running top with those mitt things. I was cold for the warm up walk and about the first five minutes. Then I was fine. I will need to get leggings and I would have appreciated a lightweight jacket that I could have shed when I warmed up. Time to shop, me thinks.... 😊
Aah!! 😀 Yes it’s is getting cooler & have my jacket at the ready. They are so light and easy to tie around the waist post warm up walk. Happy shopping 🛍
Thank you. I’m very pleased. I had a very busy Sunday but I kept smiling to myself when I remembered my run. I guess even more people think I’m bonkers now. 😊
