Did first week 5 run this week, very hard compared to week 4 runs!! Attempting second one today, at least the sun is shining 😎

You can do it, just channel your inner snail and keep it nice and slow.

It makes so much difference running in the sunshine too, I am very much looking forward to the end of this miserable, wet weather, although maybe that is too much to expect from a British summer :-)

Take it slow, ensure you have warmed up, stretch gently at the end, distract your mind with music, use little landmarks such as trees, a bench etc to help you do the run.

Breaking the longer runs down like this helped me to cope with the feeling of "oh my goodness!" when it was time for them to be done.

Also, I have a mug of warm water a few minutes before setting out, (and again when I get home) just to gently hydrate my body. Some folks reckon that this may help to combat stitch? Just enough to stay hydrated without having to need the toilet half way through the run!
