Week 6 was hard!

Just finished Week 6, and though I got through it, it was hard... Mostly a psychological battle. I love it when I realise I've been thinking about something else (not running) while still running. I'm holding on to those breakthroughs! The right playlist is essential and it'd be great to hear what gives other people's legs wings. Because I run so slowly, tracks with 75-85bpm are perfect. Dancing in the Dark, Love is the 7th Wave, XO. Solidarity to anyone like me who's knocking on 60 and carrying quite a bit of extra weight - let me know you're here! 😅

Good music choice Bagpuss58 for your running, a big congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER, well done 😀, you can think of anything but running while you run, lol, onwards and upwards to week 7 which are all 3/25 minute runs, not long now until you graduate

Morning Bagpuss ur so right - the body achieves what the mind believes! just lined up for my park run and not feeling it 100% but I’ll do it!

Keep going - my fave tracks

Titanium, Unstoppable (both Sia) sandstorm (7 min version by Darude) Countdown ( Rush) anything by def leppard x basically I’m an aging rock chick xxx

Hi Penwithpink, I hope you have a great park run! Definitely one of my ambitions to start doing that a few weeks down the line. And thanks for the track suggestions - yr rock chick selections are excellent (going on the playlist ready for my week 6 run 2 tomorrow) xxx

Week 6 can be a mental toughie-often week 5 is a big high and psychologically, week 6 can be a challenge with intervals again for the first couple of runs. You know you’re tough enough to get through those gremlins which can be a source of confidence and reassurance when tough runs come around again. Really well done! That moment when you realise you’re running without thinking about it is such a special one. If you haven’t already realised you’re a proper runner, you hopefully do now!
