Monday was quite warm, round 6 degrees, and I was looking forward to Week 7, and the three 25 minute runs (jogs, whatever...). Having completed week 6, I was a little disheartened when despite the higher temperature it was hard going, especially my breathing, which was rasping and heavy. I finished ok, but Laura's suggestion that I try and speed up at the end fell on deaf ears. I had nothing left to give, but was happy to finish. 6 laps of the stadium, non stop, I am estimating a distance of 3.6 km but there's no easy way to tell, nor how fast I am. Not very, I think.
Today it was colder again, the forecast lied and it was about 2 degrees with rain and a cold wind. Well..... I did the run, settled into a machine-like plod, not too fast. Wow. My breathing was much more relaxed somehow, maybe more than it had ever been! I am not saying it was easy, it wasn't, but this time I had a little extra and could speed up at the end. This is a new feeling, and I am wondering if the Stretch and Flex programme is helping a little. Truly, i hope this lasts, this sense of change, improvement, accomplishment. Relax, relax, relax.
Thank you all for comments and encouragement
