Didn’t run until 8pm tonight but it was still 27 degrees here, pre-empted oldfloss advice and took it slow and steady.
My friend came with me, we went along the trail by the river - out and back - so no lap counting, and it was fine. We were in the shade and apart from the midges and bike riders who don’t seem to be able to ride on grass and expect runners to step off the path it was uneventful.
We planned our trip to the spa at the end of the month, caught up on her holiday plans and the time passed without the gremlins playing up - think they were too hot to bother! I even told her about farteleking (or whatever it’s called - she visibly perked up at that (she likes speed))
Including the warm up/warm down walks we did 4.6km.
I’m feeling a little guilty as I really could have pushed it more, it was no way as awful as previous runs - but it was hot, I was trying to control my friends speed and there’s plenty time for that when it’s cooler. I was back at my week 7 speed.
Perhaps we will agree not to talk so much Wednesday 😜 I will unleash my pace maker!
