Week Four. Run Two

What a difference a couple of days make, plus running at a different time of day!

On Monday, I struggled somewhat with the first run of this week - then it was an evening run, and was topped off with a painful stitch.

Today, I opted for a morning run - not at daft o'clock... that one is on Friday lol. It was an 8am start, and I decided to do a ten minute warm-up instead of the five. I think it paid dividends.

Dire Straits and Sultans of Swing got me underway this time round. There was the usual huffing and puffing, but I paid more attention to my breathing today. I think it went much better.

Just like on Monday, I tracked this run. On Monday, including walking time, my average pace was 14.49min/mile. Today, my pace was 13.59min/mile. I'm pretty dumbstruck at the difference - and today felt much easier. Weird.

Maybe the weather played a part in today? What a glorious spring like morning. I hope there's many more days like this on the horizon.

Well done that's great. I think the weather makes a big difference, and for me where I'm running as well, I really didn't like the pavements when my old railway line was too flooded to use.

I'm mostly using the old railway line which is now part of the Coast to Coast cycle path. But, I've noticed a few bumps on it of late where tree roots are forcing up the tarmac. I can see me tripping during a night run. That'll be fun lol.

That sounds like a great run! 👏 I think I prefer morning runs too. If I left it til later in the day I think I'd have less energy and am more likely to talk myself out of it.

That's lovely scenery to run around in too. 😍 It's lovely to see blue in the sky though here it was pretty cold this morning with the temperature around 0. I wasn't too bad because I soon warm up but DD had 3 tops on and her hood up the entire time 😲
