Really didn’t want to get out of bed this morning but very relieved I made it. Found it harder than run 1 this week - same as last week, is that normal hmmm?
Rediscovered a favourite album from the eighties so that was my playlist sorted!
And another lovely sunrise, managed to get a pic in one of my walks.

Beautiful photograph! I cannot wait to get back to the Coast at the beginning of March!
Well done you.
It can be tricky at the start... but each run does make you stronger.... believe that and progress slow and steady with each week...and yes, many folk have said that for whatever reason they find the middle runs harder....
I managed to get a pic of the sky this morning and posted it too. Thanks for posting yours, I love the sea.
I'm guessing it is normal to feel that way as I'm feeling the same (W3 R3 today). This is another good thing about sharing our experiences on this forum. I know I'm getting stronger as my breathing is improving (as in I can actually breath!) but my legs aren't with it yet. We'll get there I'm sure 👍
Yes it must be normal I think, or at least not a bad sign! It’s tempting to think that once you’ve done a run that distance/time should be easy, but I don’t think it works like that I’m beginning to realise 🤣
We’re doing great though aren’t we - we’re still doing it!
I always found run 2 of any week the most difficult, my theory was that run 1 of a new week was a bit longer so had tired legs for run 2 but by run 3 my legs had got used to it
Ahem, it’s Marc Almond, Stories of Johnny. I loved it back in the day and had forgotten how good it is! I’m loving the playlist part of running, and sometimes just want to jump around dancing instead of running ha! Loving the Jags, Back of my hand, and Iggy Pop too. What’s your favourite?
From the 80s? Got to be Paul Simon's Graceland. For me it's the best album of all time.
I love a playlist too. I have a speedy playlist. From back in the day, I love running to T Rex I Love To Boogie, Creadance Clearwater Bad Moon Rising, but I have a really eclectic mix of stuff, old and new.
I'm now crafting a slow playlist after listening to a slow run on the Nike running app. It's a whole new experience running to a slower tempo, but it's definitely improving my stamina for slow runs. My first track to get me in the mood is Romeo and Juliet Dire Straits. I think I'd recommend it as a warm up track even on a faster playlist. I used to shoot out the door to Good to be Alive (Hallelujah) by Andy Grammar. Still one of my favourite running tracks, but I'm experimenting with pacing and I find the music helps.
There’s so many - There goes Rhymin Simon is my favourite Paul Simon - amazing! Interesting about the slower pacing will try that, sounds like a good experiment - fellow playlist obsessive! 😆Haven’t come across the Nike running app, is that post C25k world?
Well sort of. It has slow, short runs too but I don't think anything beats c25k. I downloaded it after a recommendation here when I graduated. I was happy just consolidating and pottering about for a month or two so I've only just started to investigate it. It's given some focus back to my running and stopped bad habits from creeping in. The coaching is brilliant but I wouldn't use it all the time. Chris Bennett is brilliant, but even the best coaches can talk too much!
I'm loving this running journey, you have so much to look forward to.
