4 weeks to do 2 weeks of runs

I started C25K in 27th December. So in 3 days, it will have been 4 weeks since I started and I’ve just completed W2R3

I am taking 3 or so days between runs generally. But, 8 days this time. Longer gaps have been due mostly to knee pain and then illness/cold weather this last week

I HATE the cold

Will it still work? Today’s run was ok actually but I’m worried that I’m really not going to get the stamina to progress, at this rate?

Just to be clear, you're going to leave 8 days between runs?

No! I hope not. 2 or 3 days feels realistic due to knee pain. 8 days happened this time due to combination of knee pain/cold weather/illness. But, my health isn’t great so it wouldn’t be surprising if it happened again occasionally

Two to three days is fine. That's how I got through. Eight days is too long a gap to get properly conditioned, although I did it once when I went on holiday.

Good luck

Try and walk, stretch, bend, anything to keep moving without damaging your body. Moving every day...active every day. Then, you know that each day you are improving your fitness and stamina. Running is just one element in improving your overall fitness and lifestyle. Look after the knees. 👀👍Take care.

Yes, I started yoga again to try and sort my knees out. I used to run (never very well/fast, but I managed a half) years ago and I have never ever had bad knees. I don’t understand where that came from. I walk everyday with the dog, but I need more than that

Wow very impressed with a half marathon...I only ever got as far a 10k in the past but last one was at least 12 years ago and my body has rather changed since then. It sounds like you have a great plan in place. 🧘🏼‍♀️👣🐕

It amazes me how long it takes and how much effort it takes to get fit; but how easy/quick it is to lose it. The half was 16 years ago and I started running at that time from a fairly high base fitness. As in, I just set off and ran 5km without too much trouble, straight off. It seems incredible now. I can barely run 90 seconds

It is indeed. But we are on track to get that fitness back or near as. Take care.

Tough call. 8 days is fine as a one off, but you'll struggle if it's a regular thing.

Not everyone leaves just 1 day between runs. Many leave 2 between every run and seem to do just fine or even need that.

Maybe look at knee strengthening exercises too. But if you're in pain with it, you're right not to run
