Hi all I reached w6r1 and then had a bout of acute sciatic so couldn't run for two weeks, should I start from the beginning again as I feel that I lost all that previous training. Not sure where to go from here. Any advice?

You shouldn’t have lost too much fitness in 2 weeks. Week 6 still has intervals gradually working up to a longer run so you could start w6 again or for more confidence repeat w5. Good luck happy running

Thank you, yes I think I'll maybe start from the beginning of week six. I suppose if I fail I can drop back to week five.

Remember we never fail we just add a practice run 😉

Oh that’s a nuisance but don’t worry. Just get back on it and see how it goes. Try and pick up where you left off. If that doesn’t work then go back a bit. There’s no rush or pressure with this. It’s all at your own pace. Slow progression through the sessions is what you’re after

Good luck😃👍

I followed the advice on the pinned post yhat says you lose little fitness up to two weeks, so although I also missed 2 weeks like you, I just picked up where I had left off, and although perhaps slightly tough, it was fine. Good luck!

I was at exactly the same stage as you when I started having problems with my sacroiliac joint, then I went on holiday, which gave it a chance to recover but meant I was going to miss 3 weeks. I had intended to carry on or maybe repeat week 5 - but I have come home with a horrible cold/sinusitis/cough, so I still haven't been able to run and I doubt I'll be running before the end of the week. Really fed up as it means I will have missed 4 weeks, so I think I am going to have to take a few steps back and build up again.
