Missed two runs due to illness

Hi All,

I’ve had to miss two runs this week due to feeling poorly and being a bit run down (no pun intended). Just a quick question, when I resume running assuming it’s in the next few days, should I continue where I left off?

Yes.

It takes a couple of weeks before you notice loss of condition.

Get fully well before you start back.

Personally I’d see how you feel. It can be helpful to repeat a run or two, focusing on your style and building up stamina, pace and confidence again. There’s no set way of doing the programme - just do what seems right for you. You don’t have to go back, but you can if you want. All the best, whatever you decide x

Poor you being unwell. 😕 Hope you’re feeling better. 👍 I’d evaluate how you feel. You might feel better in yourself, but will almost certain lack energy which will be disappointing if you head off running then run out of puff and need to stop.

How about a couple of days of brisk walks to see how your legs feel, then take it from there? You could be ok continuing from where you left off, or maybe redoing a prior week first. Just make sure you’re fully better before attempting anything. 😀

Took your advice and went for a walk today, not a long one by any means but didn’t feel too bad so might try a short weights session tomoz and see how I get on.
