Two weeks done

β€’15 Replies

Age 64, overweight (16.5 stone), type 2 diabetes, raised blood pressure and never ever run before. I've done weeks one and two and actually quite looking forward to week three. Aching back and hips, sore thighs and burning heels but I'm doing it πŸ˜€

Yeay! Go you!

The body does grumble at first.... well, it would, wouldn't it? But.... with every run you get stronger...take it slow, take it steady... make sure your meds are all spot on and enjoy.

We are here to help and support....so, keep posting please? :)

You've started so you will finish I am sure. Week 3 felt like a great achievement to me and many others. You're almost a third of the way there. Well done for kicking the couch and joining the best runners club in the world. Looking forward to seeing your next post, hopefully without burning heels Oldfloss always says to kiss the ground with your feet to keep lightness in your step. Practice that kissing and you'll be skipping to Week 4 and beyond

Well done, determination required and it sounds like you've got plenty.

As others have said nice and steady is the way, snail pace minus 1 and just keep putting one foot in front of the other
