I go for runs every Saturday, Monday and Thursday. And start a new week every Sat. I was unable to go this Monday as my son was home from school! So I’ve missed wk5r2 and am beginning to get flu symptoms now 🤧 and am worried that if I’m unable to keep the schedule I’ll undo all the hard work so far! I’m particularly worried about the jump to 20mins running in wk5r3. Will a break affect my ability to complete the run?

I had a similar problem in week 5. I think I repeated a run, but the best advice I can give is to try the next run you have scheduled up and you might surprise yourself. ie. try the 8 minutes running, and if you are really struggling, when you get to the 5 minutes, go into your walking so it is a run 1 repeat.
Don't run if you are not up to it though. You can sweat out a cold, but flu is something different really.
It won't really.. not as much as if you run with the flu! Please.. make sure you feel much better before heading out again..
Please..if you think you have flu symptoms do not run.
We do not lose fitness that quickly.. and as soon as you do feel better, then a steady build up back to where you were. Maybe Run Week 5 run 1... then see how you go!
That’s good to know. I won’t be able to go for the run until Friday. This is the first time I’ve had a gap. But weather permitting will get back to it on my set days. Thank you for replying
