Parkrun #6 - phew!

I was pleased to see Buddy34’s first sub 30 minutes Parkrun today but I’m also feeling just a bit chuffed at my own PB of 49:27! My first sub 50 minutes 5k and a good 2:30 minutes off my previous time. Which just goes to show that even we (really) slow runners can improve! Happy running folks!

Congratulations Oldgirlruns, how brilliant is that? This is why we get out of bed on a Saturday morning to do parkrun. 🏃‍♀️👏👏

Wow! Bet you are chuffed. I've yet to do a Parkrun, due to work commitments and a large dose of fear, so I'd be happy if I just finished, The feeling you get with a PB is priceless, so just enjoy it x

Thank you Ag - if you do get the opportunity to get to a Parkrun, don’t let the fear hold you back! It’s just a run after all, albeit with lots of other people!

Well done to you Oldgirlruns on achieving a sub 50 minutes 5K at parkrun this morning, there were louder cheering at the parkrun I was at for the runners at sub 50 than the sub 35 minute ones, although I did get a cheer when I finished, it won't be long before you can get a sub 45 minutes 5k, not necessary at a parkrun, but perhaps on a flat course near to where you live, once again well done on your sub 50 minutes 5K time of 49.27, you deserve to be chuffed😊🏃🏾

Thank you AM, yes I am a bit chuffed. And just a bit trepidatious about now aiming for 45 minutes. My goal is 40 minutes and then we’ll see...! Fortunately I have a very flat sea front to run along with lots of points to use as markers, so I’m sure it’s do-able! And well done you on getting a cheer as you finished your Parkrun - it’s a nice way to end on isn’t it!

It’s the first time Oldgirlruns has done a parkrun in Southsea without a gale . 😃. I am sure that helped.

Sorry that wasn’t meant to sound Like the reason you got a PB. Just meant that every time you’ve done parkrun here it has been awful conditions so running has been a battle for the hardiest of runners. You did brilliantly.

Don’t worry - I know that’s what you meant! And you’re quite right - today was a joy weather wise compared with the others. Can you arrange it so that the next one is as good?

Will try. I’ve just realised your 6th was my 60th. 😮

Crumbs- It only seems a few weeks since your 50th! I’ve got some running to do to catch up haven’t I?!
