So I finished c25k about a month ago, and have just been maintaining the 30 minutes since. Yesterday I ran my first sub 30 minute 5k (29 min 12 sec) which was intense, reeeally pushed myself and beat my previous best by about 2 minutes.
Now all I can think about is running a 10k, parkruns, half marathon... Let the madness commence.
Congratulations on your sub 30 minute 5K. I love parkrun, it’s my goal every weekend. I love the 5K distance. I also enjoy getting up to 10K and doing the odd 10K run. I’ve entered a 13K mountain trail run in November. Madness, I said I’d never join a race longer than 10K. But 5K is my favourite distance and I’ll use the training for the 13K trail run to go back and challenge another parkrun PB the following weekend.
Thanks Damienair, I'm considering doing my first Parkrun tomorrow, a bit nervous as I'm not used to running with other people... Will see how I feel early morning.
Do it. I’ll be doing my 50th parkrun tomorrow. There is nothing to fear. It’s just a run in the park. Not a race. No one will judge. You just turn up and have a go. It’s amazing and very addictive. You will love it. And if you go every week you will get to know the regulars, and you’ll meet many new friends.
This sounds so familiar..... I completed C25K in February and I’m doing my first HM this month, then waiting to see if I got into the London Marathon..... Food look on your journey.
Congratulations on your sub 30 5k. I read on one of your replies you were thinking about doing parkrun tomorrow , you should do it. I did my first 2 weeks ago and like you I was a bit nervous as I'm used to running on my own. I had nothing to worry about it was amazing and I'm doing my second one tomorrow. Well done you 😊😊👏👏
Thanks bud. I guess I'm nervous as I'm not naturally a social person, but itching to try a group run just to see what it's like. Good luck with yours tomorrow
