Morning all
Been a hectic few days, hence I've not been online much, but I thought I'd better make a post, just so you know I haven't given up
Well what a weird couple of runs. Wk3 R2 was on Saturday morning and I found it hard. Really hard. Could be the copious amounts of red win and lack of sleep, but it was the hardest run since wk1 r1. However, I struggled through and after I'd got home and recovered (wondering if it was too early to open wine again), I checked my stats on RunKeeper. Turned out to be my fastest pace to date. Certainly didn't feel like it. Even better news, after my wife finished her run, she agreed we should have wine with lunch. So all ended well
Wk3 R3 was last night. Hate running after work, but I knuckled down and did it. it was easy, no problem. Felt fast, felt good, felt like my best run to date. And guess what, it was slow. My slowest run of Wk3. But at least I'm feeling more confident about Wk4. My goodness what a step up that is!
So, the lesson I've learnt is that slow feels good, fast is a struggle. However, the biggest thing for both me and my wife, is that we're doing this without question. It doesn't matter the time of day or the weather. We're just getting out and doing it. And you know what, I just might be starting to enjoy being one of those runners who don't look like they are enjoying it and would be much faster and dryer in a car
Have a great day everybody.
