By some miracle and pure stubbornness I completed the first run of the week. I need to find better routes, but can't yet do very well with inclines. I now wear a breathable cap, which has really helped as I look up every now and then, but just focus on getting my head down and running. I would like to get to a point where I can absorb what is around me more and enjoy it. I'm just not at that stage yet, but run on!!! ππββοΈππ

Well done! I know what you mean about putting your head down....hopefully weβll eventually get to a point where we feel comfortable enough to relax and take in the view π
I did my w5r1 yesterday after work when it was dark. Wasnβt sure what that would be like, but I think it helped as I couldnβt see where I was going or how far I still had to go! I too would like to get to the point where I can enjoy looking around and take in the scenery. Bad weather forecast for tomorrow so think r2 will be Thursday... Keep going ! π
You are doing great, sounds like you are going for speed, there is the option to slow down and look around π
Sounds to me like you are rushing! π± Can you chat as you run - even with yourself? Or at least say Hi to a passing bird/dog/snail? π€£ Really, youβll build stamina just as well if not better by running slowly as by trying to outdo Mo and Co just yet. Glad you finished the run ππΌ but could be time to reread that pinned post by IannodaTruffe for Newbies that explains about an βeasy, conversational pace.β All training takes effort, of course. We are trying to push ourselves onward. But you donβt want an injury on the way! Invoke your inner tortoise and beat the hare in the end. π’
I can't rush, I run slow and steady, that's my stage. I prefer flat terrain for now as that again is my stage. I do talk to myself, usually trying to convince myself that I AM going to keep going!! I try and say hello to folks, but I'm usually so focused that I zone out! πββοΈπ
