Week 3 adventure

Looking forward to joining the group here who are working on week 3. I am sure together we will do this.

Remember everyone’s advise to run slowly. Take rest days and most importantly listen to your body. Stay safe and let’s all avoid injury.

Let’s plot rewards for completely this week. What do you all want for successfully completing run one?, run two, or run three?

I am thinking of a massage for completing run one. I loves massages. What do you all plan for your rewards

Lol, awards after a run, there are many runners who plan their run to end outside a pub, whether it's a marathon or run 1, week 1 of C25K and all runs in between, what I did on the milestone runs I ran such as run 3 of weeks 5 and 9, my first full 5k and when I graduated after running my first 10K was buy a box of chocolates. 😊 🏃🏾

Tasty reward, yum. What kind of chocolate? Godiva?

Belgium Truffles from M & S. yummy 😋.

I have not tried those. I adore chocolate. That does sound like a good reward,

I don’t plan rewards each run other than my mini mince pie and a cup of Yorkshire tea, which I eat with no guilt. But I’m planning bigger rewards at milestones like completion of W4 - new, decent running shoes. I am now browsing running gear generally and treated myself to a reasonably priced long sleeve base layer from Go Outdoors last weekend. Crikey, I sound like a right saddo, treating myself to running gear.......a massage sounds much more like a proper treat! Enjoy 😁

I miss Yorkshire tea. It’s my favourite, but it does not exist here. I am jealous. Have one for me.

You know running gear sounds good too. I need more sports bra, but I wince at having to pay 150 pounds fora bra. Here things cost more.

Poor you we should get them tax free. If you know size/style can you do online from bravissimo ?

Not sure. I have not looked into shipping. One problem might be that I don’t have an address. Percisly. As they don’t name all roads. I live on a private road, in an enclosed compound. It is pretty, but em.

I might be able to get shipped to my bosses company though. Butmight be a bit embarrassing if he or security open it.

I'd say it was worth embarrassing him. A think it would be more embarrassing if we all had to run without proper support. Men should try it that would knock the smile off their faces 😉

I go to a girls only gym. So I’m safe no males see. It is a Muslim country. So I am careful in what I do and don’t do.

Yes, couldn’t do without the Yorkshire tea, my drink of choice other than beer, haha! And, £150 for a sports bra? That’s shocking. I read that you moved from UK to Azerbaijan, how come? I get mine from M&S, and could do with some new ones - maybe my next treat.....but they only cost £25. Have a good evening, and roll on W3 😋

Ouch, £150 for a sports bra, that's ridiculous, I understand why you are winching, surely you can get one cheaper than that.

Your first milestone run is run 3 of week 5, then, run 3 of week 9, the big one, graduation run, your first 5k, 10K etc. also for some, especially if they have been trying for ages to get it, your first sub 30 minute 5k. for that you must run at least in a time of 29.59. 😊 🏃🏾

Wenderwoo profile image

I prefer to set my own milestones when it comes to treats 😊

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to Wenderwoo

Of course, the words PB personal best come to mind, many here on C25K are delighted to get sub 45, 40, 35 and especially a sub 30 minute 5, all those runs to a runner deserve a milestone run with a reward later.

I look forward to these milestones, if indeed I ever get there!

AlMorr profile image

Of course Wenderwoo, you will get there, just take all your runs slow and steady 🏃🏾 👍

Great to hear I'm not alone! I started browsing running gear too, and keep telling myself that it's way too early (I'm in the middle of week two), that I'm not a runner yet and that my old clothes will do. But then there was this soft, blue aqua long sleeve ... Maybe I could take it as a belated reward for W1R1? ;-)

peskymousie1 profile image
peskymousie1 in reply to RunawayBetty

Well we need the right clothes:). And winter is commming, And well

New running shoes was my reward after Week4 & then new running clothes after Week7.

(Confession: 2 squares of dark chocolate 🍫 with coffee at lunch time on run days)

Your doing great on the running, keep it up and enjoy

I order online and my address is difficult to find....I always add notes and mobile number and drivers meet me at the Marie (town hall) or use your boss address....

I buy pg tips and Yorkshire tea in bulk on Amazon....lifesavers and stock up when I go back to the uk

My treats are new running clothes....got some nice bits now the mileage is clocking up...they,are the only clothes I get excited about buying now

Are you having to do c25k on,a treadmill in the gym? Not that it matters as its all running....good look with your running and trust the plan as it really works.

peskymousie1 in reply to Franglaise

It is there autumn so it is colder. 21 today. I exercise on a treadmill. In a nice safe club.

Franglaise profile image

Great stuff...you can do some crosstraining on non run days if you want

As you can probably tell, running etc becomes addicitive
