A little update since graduation

Hello everyone,

so proud to have graduated two weeks ago, and just wanted to give a little update...

Still very committed to run and doing my three run a week, and signed up for my first park run which I am hoping to do next Saturday, if all goes well.

I am competitive by nature so doing C25K worked well for me, moving through the weeks was very helpful for my motivation. Without this support and the encouragement from Laura I have to be extra careful not to drop and I find it harder to run for 30 minutes but I am hanging in there. Thats why I signed up for PR, so that I get something to look forward to.

I am also getting used to run in the evening and it's getting easier now.

I ran my first 5k a couple of weeks ago and it took me 40' and I stopped a couple of times but I was really pleased and will do this again tomorrow.

also did my first sprint yesterday - only a few meters but that was fun.

that's for me. I hope everyone is doing well and thank you again for all the support I received. so pleased to see 'graduate' next to my name!

Muriel

Well done, I'm so pleased you did it. I've done 2 parkruns both went fine. So give it a go and don't worry about your time as whatever its very good. I'm finding as I progress, now on Magic Plan, different types of running and exercises keep the motivation going.

Sounds like you have a great plan to keep you motivated. Well done on your 5K and I'm sure you'll love parkrun 😊

You’re doing great... save that competitive nature up for the parkrun, have a couple of relatively easy runs between then and now. Keep your own pace early on Saturday and then just enjoy the encouraging atmosphere.

thank you; having read about others' experience post C25K here I found that I was not the only one who is a little confused without the structure of the plan and a goal. I think I do better when I have a goal so will now train for my first Park run - probably end of month. I shall report! such a great forum.

👏👏👏 glad to hear that! Parkruns are fantastic and after the focus/elation of completing C25K, a superb way of reintroducing rhythm and challenge back to your 🏃‍♂️...sprints sound serious!
