I did it. On Friday I did week 9 run 3. All of week 8 and 9 were on the treadmill as I was away in Mexico - getting to the gym on holiday is something I would NEVER have considered before but I couldn’t face doing it again. I managed 3.2 miles (the 5K) in my final run and didn’t think I’d manage to do the distance again without the treadmill to force my pace but I did my first post graduation run yesterday and did my first 5K on the roads around me in 28 minutes 23 seconds!
I’m so chuffed with myself. I found it so difficult running for 5 minutes a few weeks ago. This programme really does work!
Bring on my first park run (doing it 1st September as away next weekend) and really hope I can stick to running once I go back to work (I’m a teacher - started C25K once the exam period was over and workload reduced) and the dark nights draw in.

What a great time! I found it strange to keep running without a programme at first but set myself 3 runs a week and have managed that so far. Like you I’ve only been a fair weather / daytime runner so the colder weather and dark nights will be a new challenge. But heh - we’ve completed this challenge and that seemed unlikely!! 😊 congratulations.
That's fantastic. Great time as well. My best is 34 minutes but I may be giving away a lot of years as I was 68 years of age, and you will be running your first Park Run on my 69th birthday, so very good luck with that. I hope to be doing Park Runs again by October which will be one year since I broke my left ankle walking home from work!
Thank you. I did my park run and - even though I had to walk for a few seconds on a couple of steep hills - I got a new PB of 27:08 and was fastest in my age group (we’ll ignore the older people who beat me 🙈😄)
Just a shame going regularly to park run won’t be a possibility as my children have gymnastics classes I need to take them to on a Saturday morning. Never mind - will run on the treadmill at the leisure centre instead. 😀
