Am I to slow: Hi all am I jogging to slowly I am... - Couch to 5K
Am I to slow
Congratulations on your weight loss. There is no such thing as too slow. You've just got to keep going non-stop to get the benefits. Speed can come in the future when you've completed the programme and can try the C25K+ podcasts.
You are doing the right thing! 👏🏃♀️✅
You are as fast as you are, there is no such thing as too slow, please ignore the 5k thing, aim more for completing the runs on time alone, don't let distance become a hang up for you.
Only around 10% of people actually get to run 5k at the end of week 9, so you aren't the only person this affects, I personally didn't hit 5k in 30 minutes, my first attempt was around 48 minutes. Really, don't worry about it.
Once you get to running 30 minutes you can then work on pace, extra time/distance, etc.
Just take it all slow and steady and trust the program.
There is no such thing as too slow. Congratulations on your weight loss you should be so proud. Well done you 😊😊
That’s a fantastic weight loss you should be really proud of yourself. Don’t worry about being slow like everyone else has said time doesn’t matter. Just keep with the program it’s amazing and before you know it everything will fall into place. Good luck 😊
Thanks very much I am proud of the wheight loss but I was mad to go for years of thinking that I could eat and drink what I like without thinking about the consequences I have to say I have the most AMAZING doctor who took the time to explain things to me in a way I could understand
When I was younger I used to run a little nothing really structured but I did enjoy it and that has lead me to this I will stick to it I am not really bothered about my time but I was thinking I might (after doing the training) try my local park run but I will see how I feel after I have done week 9
WOW, that's totally amazing that you've made such a huge step to regaining your health with the massive weight loss and your taking part in this C25K programme. I'm in awe of your achievements 😀. With regard your question about speed, I'm a newbie to this programme too but I understand from others - including graduates and admins alike, that there is no such thing as too slow, slow and steady win the race, so keep it up and good luck.
Many thanks but don't be in awe I was a fool but I will stick to the program it's great to be this active again
WELCOME! Congratulations on your amazing weight loss, I think that's phenomenal. You will never be too slow. Slow is good especially when you start and do a new activity. Take your time and you'll get there!
Thank you for your comments and I will stick to the plan
You are amazing! Dont worry about anything but getting out there and enjoying keeping fit and active. Congratulations on you achievements so far!
Many thanks
Hi Feller. You don't have to go fast! You just have to go!
I finished the plan a few months ago. The thirty minute runs that I graduated with were about 4Km. No one is counting. except me! I am perfectly happy with tightening my belt a bit more, being fitter and enjoying three similar slow runs each week. Keep up the good work and enjoy your runs, however slow. They are all worthwhile.
Thanks I have enjoyed it so far
So long as you leave the couch and put one foot in front of the other, you are NOT too slow.
Many thanks
Omg you’re totally amazing! Well done!
No I am foolish cos I let it happen in the first place but thank you
You are doing fantastic. There is no such thing as too slow - it’s you versus you, nobody else. Keep doing as your doing and be proud of your achievements 👍
Well done you scg1, Don’t worry how slow you go speed does not matter, if I ran any slower I would be moon walking 🤣🤣
Keep up the good work and you will surprise yourself how quickly you progress 😁
Will do
Hi, as others have said, there’s no too slow in this. Maybe you put a bit of pressure on yourself to do everything yesterday, and losing 9 stone in 10 months is definitely up there with being superhuman. You take as long as you take doing it as it’s easier to build up than it is to recover from a stress injury. Let your knees, ankles and hips get used to it all in their own time.
I’m doing C25K on an elliptical machine as I have balance issues and frequently fall over. I’ve been doing it for 4 weeks and I’m still on day one and I don’t care cos it’s still 2 hours a week on an elliptical compared to when I hadn’t been doing any exercise. And don’t forget you’ll be so much more active in general than you were 11 months ago. Congrats on the weight loss 💪 🏃♂️
Wish I was superhuman but I am not but I will keep going and thank you
Good for you Stargirl1321 keep going you will get to the next level but how fit are you getting and that’s what it’s all about and it’s fun. 👏👏👏👏
Long way to go? Mate, you’re a bl😂🤣dy hero!! Shedding all that timber is absolutely awesome, big inspiration for a chunky monkey like me who’s borderline Type 2, struggles to keep the pounds off and sees C25K as part of that answer!
I’m 50 and just graduated on C25K, have done 2 x parkruns and just signed up for Leeds Poppy Run in November. But don’t worry about initial progress this game is incremental - week by week you’ll see a transformation, I could barely do 60 seconds when I started! Ran round our village this morning...3.4 miles
Have a good look round here at the posts (especially from us lads!) and you’ll see what a miracle this is!
Plus follow or message any bloggers you like to check in for advice etc
Superb you’ve started the journey, enjoy! 👍🏃♂️
Slow 🐌 is good. It's the endurance that matters over time. And remember, it does not get any easier, you just get better at it!
Amazing weight loss!😀you can’t be too slow. I feel I’m too slow, but at least we’re moving! Keep on going!
