I'm seriously overweight with over 4 stone to loose and nearer 60 than 50 and really need to get fit and loose weight.. my breathing is shocking even after a walk I'm knackered.
I had 3 weeks of working from home to start with, but put on weight! Now I have been furloughed decided not to waste any more time and there's no excuse not to be active.
First run was more a practice as I didn't have headphones for my phone so used my Fitbit to time myself. Then wondered why nothing worked on second run , forgot to turn in mobile data and didn't press "go" on the app ! Again ran and walked doing my own timing.. There is no way I managed 60 seconds running and barely managed 30! Went out for the 3rd run with headphones, app running and music playing. This time I did manage to run 60 seconds, only twice though out of the 8 times and did more walking than running so classed that outing as my first one of week 1.
It's a start so here I am.

I'm in a very similar situation to you. All I have done do far is set my profile ! Today I will do my first run. Totally overweight need to lose 3 stone ..at least. Nice to know thst if I do too much walking I will not be the only one.
I tried my first ever run this morning and didn’t complete it. I only just managed to run 60 secs twice! I’m going to try again on Sunday but alternate each 2nd time, so 60 secs run then 3 mins walk. Good luck, you can do this. Just pace yourself and do what you can 👍🏻
I’m 55... 4 stone to loose also!!! I’ve just done run 2 week 4..... I promise you I just jog at my pace.... it’s tough but I’m determined...I have my ear phones in and the app on.. keep going. We can do this x
Hi Scw787, thank you for your message. Wow run 2 week 4 seems a long way off , well done. I think I will have to maybe go slower on my walking and take it steady on my running. I definitely need to do this
Massive clap for you I'm really impressed with your determination. I think you're right, the tools (app and coach, with running music) are as essential for me as I lean on it completely to get me through each run, so the fact that do did 3 runs without the tools working is really impressive!! you've definitely got the mental approach to do this, so just use the guidance information to support you (I run like a snail and I don't care because its know its the right way to do it ) . Good luck
Hi ShrekswifeJust got back from run. Well actually it was 10 minutes ago but needed time to recover ! It was really hard but I managed it after a fashion. Fortunately it is quite a cold windy evening so not many saw me. I checked on fitbit when I got back and 65% of the exercise, which showed as 34 minutes was at peak, which explains why I am shattered. It must get easier
