week six was facing the wall of excuses

Yes in deedie, I just finished week six! This week was a true test of will. Normally I run in the woods counting fawns and butterflies on the way but I found myself out in no where in a hotel where it was scorching hot and all paved outside. So, I bucked up and faced the dreadmill. Yes it took 4 hours of hanging out in my running clothes but I finally got in there and did the thing. It was excruciatingly boring. I spent my time estimating where in the woods I'd be at this point in the run. Dull. Dull. Dull. but I did it!

I got home and was just knackered after a hard weekend. Instead of being excited to get out in the woods I was just too lazy. I am a spinner and a weaver. I spun and wove all day in my running gear until finally at 4pm I made myself go out for my "morning" run. The first step in the woods was amazing. I saw three sturdy but spotty fawns, scads of butterflies, several types of dragonflies, and loads of geese.

And best of all... Laura declared me "officially a runner" <3

Loved reading this, that first step is the hardest and even when the reward outside is amazing!

I work away lots and during my C25k have found myself running around uninspiring industrial estate paths, but also along canal ways and around castles. I now make it my mission to book my work overnight stays in differing places to have a run and a good nose about!

As for the dreadmill, like you i find it an occasional beyond dull necessity. Keep it up, after all as Laura pointed out, you’re a runner now, Ax
