I surprised myself this morning. Yesterday I thought to myself, nahhhh I won’t run today. I woke up and thought... I’m gonna go plonk myself on the sofa and laze all day. Then as I was brushing my teeth I was like... I’m going to do my run... got changed and off I went.
I did think for a moment mid run... what am I doing in the rain, with my steamed up glasses lol.
But my gawd it really makes you feel good just getting out and doing a bit of exercise!
I’m finding that if I listen to music I get a bit fed up and my mind is very much focusing on the run, whereas if I listen to a good podcast I seem to forget about the running and it’s over and done with before I realise.
I know I’m only on week one, but this is the first time I’ve ever felt excited about running and the following weeks!!
Any good podcast recommendations?
Any recommendations for comfy trail running shoes?
Finally any recommendations for good running earphones!? Mine keep falling out my ears!!!

Fantastic post! So happy for you, enjoy the buzz. I find the biggest battle is getting changed, once I’m kitted out it run gear, off I go! My best runs have come from ones that I either hadn’t planned for or didn’t particularly want to do.
My daughter uses wireless headphones 🎧 and will definitely be getting some I've tried AirPods and found I spent most of my time keeping them in place.
I bought Bluetooth hear buds that go over my ears and find them great from eBay £6 they got good battery life to
Well done, it sounds like you’ve caught the running bug 🏃♀️
I finally got myself a pair of mpow flame earbuds and they seem to work really well. My normal earphones used to fall out all the time but I’ve not had any trouble with these at all. One thing I did do before I could afford to buy the mpow ones (I wasn’t allowed to buy anything until half way through the program 🙄) was use a buff folded over itself into a sort of headband and sat it over my ears and that helped keep the earphones in. I’m glad I’ve got my over ear ones now though. Listening wise: I tend to flirt between podcasts and music. I like listening to runpod with Jennie Faulkner - I really enjoy that one.(sorry for the long reply 🙈)
I hope so, I’ve always wanted to be able to run, but always thought I couldn’t ☺️ I hope it continues to go well and I follow the footsteps of some of the people in the group who have achieved amazing things!
I sent my earphones back and ordered some rose gold mpow flame earbuds! They arrived today, can’t wait to try them out on my run tomorrow! thanks for your recommendations!
Has anyone tried bone vibrating headphones? They seem to have good reviews. I don't like ear buds and I like to hear what's going on around me because I run a few country lanes on a bus route.
