W4 Not too good

Just began W5 and really battled with the 5 min runs. I completed them but Iโ€™m sure I can walk faster then I was jogging ๐Ÿ˜‚. My question is - should I redo W4 until I feel comfortable with 5 mins or so I persevere!

Just go very slowly. No worries about speeding up or pushing anything. If you go as slow as you can you expend less puff and can last til the end ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

The program is progressive so once one run is completed you move on

Donโ€™t worry about it. Just enjoy it ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™ve found week 5 a real step up, so Iโ€™ve just slowed right down so my walk is slower and my run/jog is slower but everything still feels a correct speed with the rest x

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I so badly want to do it but am petrified I wonโ€™t be able to complete the required running time. I think my head is getting involved instead of me just getting out and doing it. Wish I could shut this brain up!

Iโ€™ve just done run 2 of week 5, after exclaiming to my boyfriend that 8 minutes was the maximum I could run at one time and today Iโ€™ve just done 2 8 minutes blocks of running! Ignore your head but listen to your body whilst and after you run- you might need to slow down or give yourself an extra rest day between runs! X

Life has got in the way of my week 4. So Iโ€™m doing it again this week and starting week 5 next week. Thankfully the program is flexible enough to allow for our blips.

You go girl - life may have got in the way but itโ€™s brilliant that it hasnโ€™t stopped you and you will be putting your trainers on and going for it again.

I have also found each week hard. I think itโ€™s as much about trading your mind as your body. Up to this point if I have managed to complete each run I have moved on trusting in the program. You need to channel your inner snail ๐ŸŒ, I really canโ€™t call mine a run itโ€™s a ๐ŸŒ jog/stumble! Just keep on keeping on !

I read on here (thank you soooo much to whoever's post I saw) a post regarding Japanese Slow Running (Google it!) I've now started to jog at this pace and have found that it's increased the time I can run for without exerting myself. Take a look and have a go! Good Luck!

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I managed to complete W5R2 relatively easily following the Japanese slow running method ๐Ÿ˜˜
