I completed the 25 mins week 6 run 3 this morning 😁. Tried to go as early as i could to avoid the heat, but it was still boiling, lol!!! My legs were still aching and sore from the previous 2 runs, (think i need to buy some proper running trainers to see if that helps) , so really had to pace myself and keep telling myself i can do this!! After Laura's 12.5 min check in, i really had to push myself to keep going, definitely is mind over matter! Then radio silence from Laura!!!!..... i kept willing her to let me know how long left expecting her to say just 5 more mins so i knew the end was in sight , lol!!! Was absolutely over the moon when she said just 60 secs left!!!! Then it was finished 😆. Blooming amazing, such a sense of achievement, thinks its thats feeling thats got me hooked! Really hope i can keep this up and get to graduation. Though week 9 i'm on holiday so really need to find somewhere were i feel comfortable and safe on my own to finish the final 3 runs. Never thought i'd get this far, every week i surprise myself, and maybe just maybe i can do this??!!!
Week 6 run 3: I completed the 25 mins week 6 run... - Couch to 5K
Week 6 run 3
Hi Meg82 - of course you can do it. I'm going out this evening to do wk 8 run 2 which is a 28 minute run. I'm a 60 y/o ex smoker who had a heart attack last year. Hence the need to exercise, my legs ache, particularly the calf's but I think that's to be expected. Keep going, you can graduate.
Well done! You know you can do W7 now as well!
The legs could be a hydration issue. And have a search about foam rollers as that might help if you aren’t doing it.
As for W9 on holiday, the magic won’t cease if you take a short break from running.
If you run whilst somewhere hot you are probably going to need to go easy on the booze the night before, drink plenty of water all of the time and get out and back before most holidaymakers are thinking about getting up for breakfast.
Enjoy!
I'm healthy eating alongside running so trying to drink as much water as possible throughout the day. My other half thinks its my tendons that are aching, but guess it will eventually ease and adjust over time.
We're on holiday in the UK for 2 weeks in our tourer, and know if i take a break i'll find it so hard to pick up again so rather keep going if i can, its just a case of where. I have no sense of direction, and will get lost, lol! And know i'll spend the whole run panicking if i don't know where i am!!!!!! Hopefully i can find a park or a circular route even if it means going round in circles for half hour, lol!!!
Well done! I did that one this morning too and was so pleased and surprised to finish without stopping. C25k is so fantastic
