I had a last minute change of heart about todays route. Sitting in the hairdressers i thought i would go to the South Downs, walk to the top then run along and down. As i had to run 30 mins it meant finishing on the opposite side of the hill to my car. Perhaps the yomp back over the hill would be a little too much after running 30 mins for the first time π€ Sense prevailed and I ran from my house.
I had a new (flat!!) route in mind and set off. The running was actually alright. I got into a rhythm and just plugged away. A couple of times my mind wandered back to the clock but I tried to focus on the things around me. The heady smell of the cow parsley, the adorable but very confused looking puppy I ran past, a shrub of very vocal sparrows. Our world is a beautiful place when we take the time to notice it.
Away I'm plodding away when the half way bell goes. I'm no where near half way round my route. What do I do? Turn round or keep going. Well I can't bear doing a there and back so I carried on as planned. Out of town, left turn over the hump back bridge ( they are tough going at 20 mins in!!!) another left and onto the track that was the old railway line. A short downhill πππ and Laura says 60 seconds to go. Whoop whoop I've run for 30 minutes. Me! The person who hates all forms of exercise π€£
Stopped runkeeper after my warm down walk but was still a way from home. What's a girl to do? π€·ββοΈ she restarts her app and power walks ππͺ another 1.25km if you are wondering
In all honesty I think the extra walk really helped. At the end of my running my right knee felt a bit weird but the 15 minutes of walking seem to have sorted that out. ππ
Now I'm off to eat left over Chinese then do the ironing whilst watching Eurovision. See, a wild night in the jogunlikely house π€£π€£π€£
Happy running folks xxx
Ps the photo is especially for Kertesz the other one I treated myself to x
