I knew Wales was hilly but oh my!

Well today was the start of W7. As I'm. Sure most of you know I'm on holiday in Wales but determined to keep going. Had a nightmare yesterday, went for a walk with my 3 year old whilst my husband climed snowdon. Well I ended up falling flat on my face, my little boy kept a grip on my hand and also fell. Ended up going to hospital and bless him he has broken his collar bone! I've got badly graized knees that are really sore and a badly bruised upper arm.

Anyway decided I would still run today, been a little worried knowing it would be difficult to miss any hills. Well 10 minutes in and I start going up a hill, to me a really big one. A quarter of the way up I decided to turn back round. Either that or I would have ended up quitting altogether! But I managed to keep going. I did walk for about 6 strides but managed to not listen to my head and kept on going. I am pleased that I've completed it but yet still disappointed in myself for turning back down the hill and the 6 walking strides! Hopefully it'll go better on Wednesday, might look for a different route. Also I ran at 8am which is a lot earlier than I usually run. Fingers crossed for the next one.

Wow, well done for managing to keep going, especially with your poor knees. I hope your little boy feels better soon. I've got my week 7 run tomorrow, I had to do week 6 twice as found it rather hard, but if you can do it on the hills, that has motivated me to go for it as well. Have a great holiday. :)

I have a nightmare hairpin bend on my normal route, which is very steep and comes in the middle of a long slow grind uphill. I used to turn round before the steep bit and run back and forth until Laura said I could walk, and then I'd walk up the steep bit and run again from there. No shame in turning round on a hill ;)
