that took some fight with the gremlins this morning as i had been to the osteopath yesterday and didn't sleep much and was wide awake at 5:30.
went downstairs and made a cuppa, i was going to take it back to bed with me as i was tired , got back upstairs and i thought of all my friends on here (Yes, Friends !) that would also be running this morning, so i put my running gear on drank my tea went back downstairs did my dynamic warmup routine and was out of the door on my warmup walk at 6:05 π¬
it felt ok, i was at a steady pace by 5 mins in (albeit a bit slow)
10 mins and feeling ok and enjoying my music, a real blast from the past with Jethro tull ! π
it was comfortable at this time of course as it hadn't warmed up too much.
got halfway and started thinking of my c25k journey , it .has been amazing, i ran every other day until i injured myself on week 8 run 1.
then 16 days later was able to jump straight back in at week 8 run 2, then 1 day rest and then run 3
then i almost laughed out loud as i remembered the only run i ever had to repeat , it was week 2 run 2 and my old trainers fell apart half way around and the soles came off hahaha, i had to tie them on with my laces so i could try and walk homeπ
while im remembering all this my run of course was just disappearing in in front of me and before i knew it i had 10 mins left and the hill to contend with .
the hill was fine, my head was in the right place and i was actually enjoying this run even though i still have some discomfort !
hill conquered and the last few minutes to go ! feeling good
of course this run is a couple of mins longer than week 8 which meant i would probably finish after another shorter hill.
i could see the finish line in my head , and i was not going to speed up to it !
Laura comes back in to tell me thats it ! 30 mins of running is over for today !
Bring on 9, 2 ! im back ! π¬

Well done finish line in sight you'll have to think of more things to think about lol! FYI I woke up at 5 then went back to sleep and then woke up at 6 and went back to sleep....
Maybe I'll run tomorrow instead lol. So really well done on not going back to bed.
Well done for get out there onwards to final 2 runs - my plan was the same but I turned over and slept on π΄- Iβll definitely go tomorrow morning early ππΌββοΈπ
What a great post! Definitely an inspiration and Iβm hoping one day the the thought my slight incline doesnβt scare the living daylights out of me!
This was my second early morning run, I was surprised that I find it easier as Iβm definitely not a morning person.
Thank you for the pointer on Dynamic warm up stretches as theyβve been a tremendous help.
So pleased! This is great progress! I also ran early this morning and it was HOT! The joy of your run really shone through your post. Jethro Tull - hmmm - I might add some songs by them to my playlist, although I knew I was making progress today because I turned my music off for a while. I know I'm on a roll when I run without music!
I love how you sneaked off for an early morning run instead of climbing back in bed with your cuppa..... but when the running calls you just gotta go! π€£
Staying close by to read your posts on your last 2 runs - canβt wait to read it!
After your injury the celebration will be all the sweeter!
