Thanks so much for all the advice you have given me over the last couple of days for my first Parkrun. I kept it slow and steady and ran the whole way. I wasn't expecting so many people to be there (Cardiff) so the start was a bit overwhelming but I came in 776th out of 782 so I didn't even come last. My time was 48:20 and as first run was a PB of course! Went for a coffee afterwards and everyone was so friendly. This forum and Parkrun are such an amazing supportive communities. Thanks again!

Well done you !
Well done that’s a great achievement 😁
Congratulations to you Peffrey for completing your first 5k Parkrun, I am sure you will get PB's for your next few parkruns, the first goal for a sub 45 minutes 5K time as early as your next run, remember take all the runs as comfortably as possible and those times will improve naturally. 😊 🏃 🎓 🏃
Welcome to the parkrun family...(and your new obsession...😄..)...May you enjoy many, many more 👍👏💪

Well done, I'm going to try a Parkrun when I graduate - sounds like a lot of fun.
Great stuff!! First Parkrun can be a shock to the system. Mine in January was 48 minutes. Just keep whittling away at it, at your own pace. It’s addictive!!
I love ParkRun! That’s a very busy one! Well done! You’ll be hooked now 👍🏽
