Marple Parkrun is home Parkrun for Pianism πΉ occasional Parkrun destination for me, and today was the tourist Parkrun destination for Runningroni ππΌββοΈ, TailChaser π, Katnap πΊand 2 delightful kittensπΈπΈ. Thank you to the 'tourists' for getting up early and making the effort to come to Marple.
Pianism got a PB, smallest kitten is super whizzy and the fastest of us all, the rest of the Kat family are all pretty fast and were waiting at the finish line to cheer the last 3 of us in. I got sub 35mins so I'm a happy pirateβ οΈ.
The tiny person at the finish line who had done 10km, 5km before Parkrun and 5km at Parkrun and was raising money for Guide Dogs For The Blind deserves the BIGGEST shout out. His Mum was giving out fairy cakes to celebrate FOUR laps round the park equaling his first 10km ever. So, full of cake I treated myself to a milkshake and breakfast at Dutsons, Marple Bridge, along with the rest of the crew. Eyes bigger than belly comes to mind!
Thank you everyone, it was really good fun meeting up. I hope to see you all again at another HU meet up soon, and to meet more of you too.
TailChaser, if that has to be Lyme Park when you tick that one off your list, then I'm up for it! (Gulp. V hilly there!) π²

So pleased you all managed to join up, canβt wait to run with you all. As I said to pianism, I can manage Leeds and York quite easily by visiting friends and family.
Sorry your cold decided to develop instead of go away. Thank you for making the effort to come. I hope you managed a nice napette when you got home. Get well soon.
Yay! Yes! Lyme Park has to be done! Even if we donβt run it all, itβs there to be conquered π
Thank you for a lovely day Baddie. As I was saying to Pianism, Marple is a beautiful place and our journey through the Peaks back down to Northwich was very special. Thank you for all your hospitality, your home is very special π€ Looking forward to meeting up again one day not too far away πxx
Sorry guys... I woke up at 9:05 as I forgot to set an alarm. Having walked the Lyme park course recently, Iβd welcome a heads up as to when youβre planning on running it so that I can volunteer in time... that first km is gonna hurt π
Ditto from Canada, too! I may never get to meet any of you wonderful people in real life, but it sure feels like we know you and it is great seeing a face to go with the names!
Thank you BaddieThePirate for getting the ball rolling. I have to say, I had a cracking day and I feel like I've met some absolutely wonderful, warm and kind people. By the time we parted, it felt like I had known you all for ages, not just for a few short hours. And I got hugs from everyone in the car park as we were saying goodbye - was really touched!
